Hi everyone,
This week you can participate in the Simon Says Monday Challenge with pastel colors, or in the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge with a "happy birthday card".
Also, looking for other cards I discover Colour me card challenge, you can also join the CMCC#65 challenge whit a monochromatic card using "soft sky".
this month I need some
happy birthday cards, so last days I have been thinking about how to make them.
I like very much the versatility of the hexagons, I have my dies and I wanted
to use them. First I thought to use 2 colors so I die cut some hexagons, but
lately I found this clear blue card and I decided to use only one color. I love this color, and it was perfect when I discovered Colour Me...!
While I was die cutting the
hexagons I decided to die cut the butterfly (big shot starter kit Powder Blue & Teal) and the Die-Namics
"formal flourish" die.
I cut a rectangle of white
cardstock and I glued the hexagons, then I cut the left-over. Trying to find a
place for the butterfly y realized that I was better to make two cards based on
the same design. So I did the same operation with another white cardstock. And as
you can see I used the formal flourish and the butterfly separately. I sprinkled both cards with
black ink.
I die cut the letters with TimHoltz's "Chip Block alphabet" die, and I
paste them over the hexagons.
Finally I paste each cards
on a little bigger gray cardstock. And this is all.
"Zorionak" means "Happy Birthday" in Basque. I
realized that here to say “happy birthday” we use the equivalent of “congrats”,
literally it must be something like “urtebetetze zoriontsua” but it is not used
at all.
I’m happy because the more
things I make, more ideas come to me. Now I have got an idea to improve them!
Happy crafting!
